Information and consultation process
A process for understanding and expressing an opinion on the project
Onimiki Renewable Energy wishes to encourage public participation in the different stages of the project's development.
We are committed to transmitting information regularly throughout the development stages to propose a project defined in consultation with the communities.
The planned information and consultation activities will :
integrate local knowledge and respond to their concerns to minimize impacts;
maximize spin-offs;
improve the project concept and, where appropriate, incorporate these modifications directly into the impact study.
Information sessions on the project and its challenges
Several citizens and organizations in the area have taken part in a series of public information and consultation meetings since the summer of 2022. Targeted meetings have also been held. Their comments and concerns were taken into account to propose an improved project that was presented in spring 2024.
Additional information sessions are planned with interested stakeholders as well as the population concerned to present the project.
Targeted meetings on the main issues and concerns raised by the community will be held in the fall of 2024.
The meeting minutes are availaible in our documentation center
First Nations participation
Kebaowek First Nation and Wolf Lake First Nation are partners in Onimiki Renewable Energy. Information sessions have been held with communities members. The schedule and number of meetings to be held will be determined with the communities. The purpose of these meetings will be to address any concerns the communities may have in relation to the project, to keep them informed and to identify possible avenues of collaboration in the development of the project.
