In an interview with ICI Abitibi-Témiscamingue, the Minister of the Economy, Innovation and Energy, Pierre Fitzgibbon, demonstrated his openness that Investissement Québec could finance the hydroelectric project developed by Onimiki Renewable Energy. He made this statement during a visit to Témiscamingue.
The project is currently valued at $475 million, based on estimates from comparable projects. The partners will need to obtain the necessary financing to complete the project. Investissement Québec’s overture is welcomed.
Several steps remain to be taken. Public consultations will resume this fall. Environmental studies are also continuing to document impacts. The objective remains to propose a project that takes into account the concerns of the people.
