Onimiki Renewable Energy held a series of information and consultation meetings from March 17 to 20, 2025.

Minutes were produced by Transfert Environnement et Société. In keeping with our commitment, we are publishing them on our website. They can also be consulted in our documentation center.

These meetings enabled us to provide an update on the project, answer people’s questions, hear their concerns and obtain their feedback on the project.

Among the main issues and topics of interest raised by the community were :

  • the project’s impacts on various watercourses, notably Kipawa Lake, the Kipawa River and the Gordon Creek reach, and the management of water levels;
  • rigorous assessment of all environmental impacts, particularly on water quality, wildlife and soil, and sharing of this information with the community;
  • the compatibility of the project with Parc national d’Opémican and recreational tourism activities on the territory;
  • the investments required, the means of financing and the maximization of local economic spinoffs during the construction and operation periods;
  • justification of the project from the point of view of community partners;
  • the objectives of the information and consultation process, and the means of publicizing the project.

Onimiki Renewable Energy would like to thank all participants. The information and consultation process will be actively pursued throughout 2025, in parallel with the drafting of the impact study, scheduled for submission towards the end of 2025-2026.
